The management of all education is by elected officials, whether at Federal, State or County levels. In North Carolina certain senior administrators are also elected plus a State wide Education Board is appointed by the state's highest elected official, the Governor. School Boards are elected and are responsible for all school management. So it is critical to elect the most competent and professional people to manage our childrens education. We do not need ideologues bent on providing politically based structures, curriculum and resources. The UMC has a general Voter's Guide based on the main elements of the Social Principles, and this is to be found here (show link) and we encourage you to consult it. A more specific guide on education matters will be provided at election time and will cover the most important issues at that time.
